JioHotstar is India's largest streaming platform
JioHotstar is a subscription and advertising-supported streaming service operated by JioStar, the joint venture between Reliance and The Walt Disney Company. It launched on 14 February 2025, when JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar were merged into a single platform, and it is headquartered in Mumbai.
The catalogue runs to more than 300,000 hours in 19 languages: live cricket from the IPL, ICC events and the WPL, the Premier League, Wimbledon, Pro Kabaddi and the ISL, plus films and series from Disney, HBO and Warner Bros Discovery, NBCUniversal's Peacock and Paramount. More than 100 Indian television channels feed the on-demand library.

JioHotstar is India's largest streaming platform, launched on 14 February 2025 when JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar were merged. It is operated by JioStar, a joint venture between Reliance and The Walt Disney Company, and carries live cricket, films, series and originals across 19 languages, with a library of more than 300,000 hours.
A large part of the catalogue is free with advertising, including many live sporting events, films and shows. JioHotstar subscriptions raise the quality and remove most ads: Mobile at ₹79, Super at ₹149 and Premium at ₹299 per month. No card is needed to watch the free tier.
Since 28 January 2026 the monthly prices are ₹79 for Mobile, ₹149 for Super and ₹299 for Premium. Quarterly options are ₹149, ₹349 and ₹699; annual options are ₹499, ₹1,099 and ₹2,199. Mobile caps at 720p and one device, Super at 1080p and two devices, Premium at 4K and four devices.
Android and iOS phones and tablets, Android TV and Google TV, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung Tizen from 2018 onward, LG webOS 3.5 and newer, Apple TV, Jio set-top boxes, and any modern browser at hotstar.com. Chromecast and AirPlay both work for on-demand titles.
Super and Premium include the international catalogue from Disney, HBO and Warner Bros Discovery, NBCUniversal Peacock and Paramount. The Mobile plan excludes Hollywood but can add it for ₹49 a month, ₹129 a quarter or ₹399 a year.
You need Premium, a 4K television or streaming device with HDCP 2.2 on the active HDMI port, a title mastered in 4K, and roughly 15 to 25 Mbps of stable bandwidth. Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos appear on titles that carry them. Phones usually stay at 1080p even on Premium.
Films, series episodes and originals can be downloaded on phone and tablet with any paid plan, up to five titles per device at 720p or 1080p. Live sport cannot be downloaded. Saved titles need a licence refresh roughly every 30 days, so open the app online occasionally.
